Replaced a door knob with an electronic lock but then there was no handle left to pull the door close! So ordered this. It does the work. But to boot - it is solid and beautiful. Came assembled with all parts plus wood screws for door, tiny screws to tighten the door handle and cover onto the solid base that mounts on to the door and the hex tool to tighten them. Don't make the mistake I made mounting the base facing outside so the mounting screw is visible. Easy to fix by just flipping the base.

First off, this thing is solid, and the quality is immediately evident upon opening. Everything is packaged nicely and all the parts you need for installation are included. Speaking of installation, it is a breeze and didn't take 15 minutes to install with nothing more than a small allen key for set screws and a phillips screwdriver. While being heavy duty it also maintains a nice clean look that goes with just about any door you might have. The action is nice and smooth with no play in the mechanism. You get this door handle, and you won't need another one for your lifetime. Purchase with confidence it will not let you down.

This is a great door handle. Taking it out of the box you can feel the weight. The instructions were very clear and straight forward. Even if you have never changed a door handle, this one would be easy to do. I removed my existing door handle that is about 5 years old. Everything from this new handle fit right into place. When you screw the 2 sides together, it is a strong fit. I will not worry about this handle coming loose. It is higher priced than your local store, but the quality is real. The only thing I don't like is that the handle does have to travel a ways before you can feel it engage to open the door. Not really that big of a deal. . . just different than what I have had. I have already starting buying more to start matching the house. Definitely recommend.

I'm on the fence about this handle. I installed it on a standard hollow core door with the knob/handle hole already pre-drilled. The latch mechanism didn't easily fit in the pre-drilled door and I had to force it in with a rubber mallet. I then had trouble understanding the directions, as I've never installed a doorknob that involved unscrewing the handle and rosette cover to install, but I eventually came to understand the directions and after a lot of wiggling the parts to get them to slide together properly, it was in. Now that's all said and done, I'm not thrilled with the wiggle on the inside handle. I've attempted to tighten it with the provided allen key, but it doesn't seem to make much of a difference (see super short video).

We ordered this matte black finished door handle to replace one on the guest bathroom door. Just the weight of the package and the feel of the door handle as I was unpacking the box made me confident in the purchase. I knew this was a quality piece. 1. All you need is a Phillips head screwdriver and an Allen wrench. The screwdriver was not included, but the Allen wrench was. 2. This door handle fit exactly where the previous one was, and installation was a breeze. 3. The door handle is lockable from the inside with just a push of the round button. If you need to unlock from the outside, simply insert the long side of the provided Allen wrench into the small hole in the front knob plate, and push the inside lock button. This door handle is a heck of an upgrade to the builder-grade door handles the house came with. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who needs to replace any or all of their door handles. I received my Mega Handles Privacy Lever Door Handle Set when promised, and it was packaged to ensure none of the elements were damaged or scratched. The finish on this set is matte black and is so good, it absorbs the light. This set out of the box weighs almost 2 pounds. The levers are long and substantial so you know you’ve grabbed the door handle. It is so sturdy, you won’t worry about damaging this lever with rough treatment. Most of the new door handle sets I’ve installed over the last 6 months or so have required me to enlarge the top and bottom of the hole for the latch mechanism. The knobs I’ve been replacing have been on these doors for at least 20 years and a couple of them likely go back to the original build over 40 years ago. Some of the strike plates are changing from curved edges to more sharp, squared edges, but my handy Dremel takes care of those small fit adjustments. The mfr instructions included with this set are comprehensive and easy to follow, especially if you’ve changed handle sets before. I always pull all the parts and hardware out to match it up with the instructions, and the only pieces that confused me before I started this installation were the three small, headless threaded screws. Those aren’t referenced on the instructions specifically but are used to tighten the rosette to the internal parts of the interior door and attaching the lever handle with the provided tiny Allen wrench - which I initially thought was the “key†for opening a locked door (this one is a push button). The quality of this set becomes clear during the installation. The screws attaching the interior and exterior pieces are inside the rosettes, so I didn’t have to struggle to tighten screws around a door handle - meaning no scratches from slipping off the screw. I wasn’t able to get the included screw installed on the bottom threaded posts, but I think that was more my error. I used a screw from the set I removed and it worked beautifully, so I moved on. Also, I was very thankful for the 3 extra, very tiny headless screws provided by the mfr to reattach the rosette and door lever. I dropped the first 2 I was attempting to reinstall, but since I had 3 extra, I was able to get the installation complete without letting go of everything to search for them. I found them during cleanup and stored them in a labeled bag in case I need them. I will admit that reattaching the rosette and door lever were the most frustrating part - those screws are tiny but they need to go in far enough to secure the rosette and lever, and the tool is tiny too! But once you get those reinstalled, you’re done. Installed, this handle set oozes quality. Hubby says it feels substantial, strong, durable and sturdy, and he doesn’t worry about breaking it (unlike the delicate, swirly lever on the powder room door). Honestly, to be worthy of this lever set, I think we need to replace this 40 year old door!While this wasn’t the easiest handle set I’ve ever installed, the sleek look and lack of exposed screw heads were worth the extra time and effort. Anyone who can read and follow instructions and use a Phillips head screwdriver and Allen wrench can install this door lever, and enjoy the result. The price point to value on this product is excellent, especially because of its durability. If you are looking for a really simple design esthetic combined with a substantial, well-manufactured door lever set, I highly recommend this Mega Handles Privacy Lever Door Handle Set - this gets all the stars!
